mental battle

You have no doubt seen and heard those ads declaring that anyone can have a set of rock-hard abs in just three weeks, no matter how flabby they may be now. Others proclaim the virtues of all kinds of secret diets from high-protein diets to water diets, all promising that you will see changes within no time.

But the reality is that there is no way the damage that’s been done over many years can be undone in a couple of days of intense dieting or training.

Why are weight loss and blogging a mental battle?

Global entities in the field of weight loss and training, such as Weight Watchers and TRX Trainer, will tell you that there is no secret nutritional or training plan that will cure the results of years of poor lifestyle choices.

What you can be sure will work is a well thought out regime that you stick to faithfully for a long time. Likewise, when setting up a new online business via a blog, there is no quick fix. One of the biggest mistakes new bloggers make and fail is that they expect instant gratification.

Success comes over a long period of time, and it takes a lot of perseverance, determination and endurance. Like blogging, weight loss is a Marathon run, not a 100-meter sprint. A Marathon is a mental challenge. The biggest battle takes place in runner’s own mind during the race – it is a battle between quitting and keep running.

Why is it important for bloggers to understand how their body works?

Understanding how your own health works is especially important for bloggers who spend the lion’s share of their day hunched over their computers doing research and typing out articles.

Regardless of their best intentions, they find the day ending when they’ve barely budged from their desks. As for diet, most of them resort to fast foods and fizzy drinks due to their convenience. This kind of lifestyle will have adverse effects sooner or later.

The 2 steps below are the building blocks to help you as a blogger develop a healthy routine.

Understand the role a balanced diet plays in your well-being

The first thing you need to do is begin watching what you take in. Eat the right kind of foods; those that energize your body, improve the digestion process and also help it to grow.

If you are at a loss as to where to begin, visit your nearest bookstore and look for something to do with nutrition and diet. Or better yet, go to the Internet and see if you can get nutritional advice from a reputable source. Be careful to avoid the quick-fix solutions mentioned earlier. Find out the different functions performed by the nutrients contained in the different kinds of foods.

Once you gain a firm understanding of the role food plays in your wellbeing, you will be less inclined to go on stuffing yourself with ‘dead’ foods. Most junk food is considered dead as the nutrients in it have been long destroyed in the cooking process or because they are made from a combination of artificial flavours and colouring with zero nutritional value.

Tip: A good way to choose “good calories” instead of “bad calories” is to honestly ask yourself: “Does my body really needs this?”

A thorough grasp of food’s importance will also keep you from seeing eating as simply a source of pleasure or emotional solace. You will cease the habit of eating until your stomach groans. Instead you will begin eating just what you know your body needs.

Understand the role exercise plays in your performance as a blogger

Much as some of us cringe at the sound of the ‘e’ word, there is no getting around the fact that exercising regularly is the only way to recover our lost shape. Women dreading the prospect of becoming muscular when they start exercising need to know that all they need is to engage in low intensity cardiovascular activities to burn calories and lose weight. These include jogging, swimming, bike riding or even a simple, brisk walk.

Tip: Remember to pace yourself as you begin and do only what you can comfortably sustain, even if it’s just 15 minute break from your blog work. Start from somewhere and gradually increase the intensity.

Combining the above two measures will put you well on your way to achieving your weight loss goals but you must be able to sustain them over a long period if you are to see the results you want. Remember, this is a Marathon, not a sprint. This means you must be committed and disciplined, refusing to give up even when the going gets tough.

With this said, I am now going to take a break from my guest posting work and go for a nice walk by the beach for 15 minutes to exercise and re-energize.

If you are looking for immediate change, iPhone is not an option as it will take time to book new iPhone.

Apple has ambitious plans to upgrade iPhone 4S and it will certainly take time. If you are a staunch Apple user and really exploring options to switch gears to a new platform, ICS is really attractive and it is a timely opportunity to draw the best features from a smartphone. Windows based smartphones are far behind in this scenario.

iPhone alternatives

1080p HD video recording is the benchmark of Samsung Galaxy III and HTC One X. Voice recognition and gesture sign-up are available in Samsung Galaxy III. The device will not run into sleep mode as long as there is activity on your phone. It will be able to sense your usage like phone calls or performing a task on any smart application. Even if you are reading a book, the phone will not go down to sleep mode.

Precautions before selection

If you are really serious about your new ICS choice, you are advised to visit the showroom nearest to your area where you will be able to compare the products with your own eyes. As you check these phones physically you will be able to judge their features and will help you take a better decision.

These phones are likely to implement extra features in addition to the native ICS capability. The relevance of these new features which are driven by the new software can be figured out as you check the available features yourself.

Conclusion

Improved voice commands, enhanced browser, facial recognition, enhanced image capturing capability and improved core applications such as Gmail and Calendar makes ICS attractive and really tempting for new entrants into smartphone market. The smartphone and tablet markets are always changing with the top names in the industry bringing out new and innovative developments for their latest models on what seems like a weekly basis, forcing their competitors to raise their game.

A bit like a football club being bought by a billionaire owner and finding themselves top of the table, it is a market where you don’t necessarily have to have a proven background to produce a global success.

Fortunately for Samsung, they have that reputation in abundance. Built up over decades now, the tech giants have been producing televisions and other electrical products that have become essentials in our everyday lives, and they’re causing a storm in the tablet market.

Producing products that rival the likes of Apple and Blackberry isn’t easy, but the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) is the latest off the production line and sales have shown that they’re producing the right stuff.

Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-2

While it isn’t going to blow the Amazon Kindle Fire out of the water, it certainly provides customers with a perfectly adequate alternative, meaning that they don’t get the perks and don’t have to pay the hefty price associated with the Kindle Fire. Instead, it has a consumer-friendly price tag and does little more than what it says on the tin.

So what does it look like? Well, it’s had a bit of makeover since it debuted on the market as the Galaxy Tab, and now features a steel finish as opposed to a matt black look, making it much more stylish than before.

While other tabs have gone for the slim and sexy look, the Galaxy Tab 2.0 is actually slightly thicker than its predecessor, but that doesn’t mean it’s heavier – in fact, it weighs exactly the same, give or take a few grams.

While it may not jump off the shelves at customers with it’s new design, you can be assured that it is well constructed and built to last, so you will get away with dropping it a couple of times. (Not that you should test it though!)

Just like the first version, the Galaxy Tab 2 has a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, translating to 170ppi which, while being nothing outstanding, is perfectly good for what is a relatively cheap tablet.

Brightness is good meaning no more squinting to make out small words, but direct sunlight does create viewing issues – something the majority of tablets and smartphones suffer from – so this won’t put customers off.

The battery life is good. For someone who uses their tablet on a regular basis, you will get around 1 ½ days of use before it dies on you, or around 4 days of light use, so you don’t get the problems associated with the likes of Apple whereby you use it on a two-hour train journey and you’re about out of juice.

For what is a budget tablet, the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) is very good. As mentioned previously, it won’t beat the Kindle Fire, but it will certainly prove to be a worthy competitor and with the $250 price tag, it might encourage more customers to leave the Kindle on the shelf.
