Shared Web Hosting Plans

Web hosting needs differ according to the variety of options available in the market and it is dependent on the exact limitations of your company. It is not necessary to be extremely technology oriented to want to start your own website. However, it will definitely help if you have a clear idea about the conditions available with different web hosting services. This will allow you to make the final decision regarding the type of web hosting that best suits your needs.

Shared web hosting is quite ideal for people with limited technological skills or the in availability of time to handle web server maintenances on their own. Shared web hosting services offer maximum flexibility with reduced maintenance responsibility. Here is a look at what you can expect when you opt for shared web hosting as your primary option for hosting your official site.

Affordability of service

The reason why shared web hosting is the most popular platform for most sites ‘ hosting is its affordability quotient. Unlike most other web hosting service types, shared web hosting incorporates sharing server space with multiple sites. This effectively divides the cost of server purchase and maintenance amongst all the sites that get on the particular server.

Since, the growth of the internet sector and the necessity for a strong online presence is steadily growing; the market for shared web hosting is in turn growing more competitive. As a result, there are quite a number of cheap service offers available for shared web hosts.

Simple mechanism

The dedicated servers offer a hosting space for multiple sites. This is the foundation of a shared web hosting service. The concept of hosting management has evolved in to this unique option. The technical support and server maintenance for the web hosts is not a direct responsibility for all these sites.

As a result, the process of website development can move on to other efforts such as marketing, development, and content production for the sites.

Usage limitations

This is one of the most dreaded concepts for website owners. Venturing on with your website development without gathering all information regarding actual usage limitations and server space afforded through the plans, can develop in to major problems in the future.

Most web hosting companies refrain from mentioning these exact details on their marketing brochures or sales proposals. However, you can always ask the company representative or tech support personnel for the details of the plans. The server space allotted to your site has an upper limit and crossing the limit might lead to suspension of your account due to overuse of resources.

Comprehensive tools and site development features

Most shared web hosting companies offer developmental tools and control panel hosting features to further increase the efficiency of their services. The ultimate target is to develop an effective site and upload it on the main server.

Cpanel hosting features help to simplify the platform of servers, so you can understand the underlying technicalities to set up a site. The website builder features allow for effective web development and content creation and upload on to the sites.

Server failure tendencies

The very fact that makes the platform of shared web hosting, so enticing, is also one of the main reasons that leads to the unreliability. The server space is shared by multiple sites, which puts an uncommon load on to the server. Moreover, any maintenance glitch for the server means an extended downtime for your site, which will directly affect your business or organization.

The web hosting companies do provide round the clock tech support and server repair facilities; however, the server is after all a machine and thus quite susceptible to maintenance issues. The increase in the site loading and balancing adds to this issue.

The security and effect of neighborhood traffic on to your load time are issues that will be an added worry for shared web hosting services. The server is a secure enough to handle loading multiple sites; however, the shared platform does leave your site information to other sites present on to the same platform. Any hacking on to the main server can jeopardize the security of your sites.

The neighborhood internet traffic can lead to slow loading of your site’s pages. This is especially the case, if you are in the habit of uploading heavy image or rendered video files on to your sites. Long upload time for your pages might mean a direct traffic lag for your site and affect your business

The final choice of web hosting services completely depends on your business’s discretion and needs. However, shared web hosting is quite popular as one of the most dependable hosting options.

I understand your opinion about shared hosting, but what do you think about free hosting? Is it a “no, no” thing? Buying a server of my own it’s too risky, in my opinion, especially for those with no experience in the area.

Free hosting… I won’t say its a complete no-no. It all depends on the purpose of your website. If you are running a business website, ya free hosting is a no-no for sure!

I thought so :) Since everyone aspires to popularity and/or money, a free hosting provider just won’t be enough for website owners.

As long as the prices for dedicated servers are high shared hosting will be popular. But once your blog grows and start to get some serious traffic it’s always advisable to move to a dedicated server.

Agreed Nishadha! But sometimes many people think that they should move to dedicated hosting if they see their website down a few times (I’ve had many of my clients ask this!) :)

There is definitely an advantage of having shared hosting. Just wanted to point out the fact that webhostingpad is definitely not a good choice as long as good shared host concerns. I have had a horrible experience with them, and I will never go back to them

Limitation is one important factor that you need to consider especially if you are maintaining multiple websites in one hosting. Do not forget that you need to allocate the capacity of it to each of your website.

Using the shared web hosting will definitely a very big help especially to business but if you will have enough knowledge in using it you will definitely be successful. If a business is going to appoint to host your site have a bright idea on what he is doing and the expectations you’ve mentioned are clearly understand.

Sharing hosting give high risk for me, It is much safe if you have your own host for your sites. what if your sharing partner decided not to continue the host anymore and the host is to expensive and to big for you? what if your partner cause a trouble while connecting from the server and caused server down. It is better to have your own.
